The 85th Academy Awards are upon us. We love Hollywood, and the Oscars, so in the spirit of the award, we thought we’d share some photos from a trip to California. We’ve gone out there a few times, but this last time, we agreed that we would take some photos along the main tourist hang-out. Please enjoy some of the photos from our last trip to California.
Beverly Hills Street Sign
View of L.A. from up high in the Hollywood Hills
View from above – These Hollywood Hill roads seem to go on forever
Sightseeing goes by so quickly. Night in Beverly Hills. So quiet and low key at this hour.
A reminder of the talented Charlie Chaplin. Remember The Gold Rush?
Us outside Grauman’s Chinese Theatre trying celebrity on. This particular one has both Marilyn Monroe’s and Jane Russell’s handprints and footprints. Kind of cool.
The Kodak Theatre is really pretty and the centre of fan activity. There are a lot of people in costumes milling about offering to take a photo with you for a nominal donation. They go all out, so it’s kind of hard to refuse them.
Another view of the Kodak Theatre at night. Across the street is where the Jimmy Kimmel show tapes.
Rodeo Drive is nearby. There are clusters of great high-end shops.
Rodeo Drive is incredibly elegant. Because of all the brand names, it could be like any other high-end shopping area, but the cars parked tend to be very high end too, and you’re likely to see a celebrity out and about shopping or dining.
Time to head to the airport for home. Marilyn at LAX.
