There are only so many times a person can have toast and eggs for breakfast. Many people often lack the time and the energy it takes to come up with new ideas for a healthy and quick breakfast, so I wanted to share with you what I’ve recently found to be an amazing breakfast food that is so good for you, tastes good and is really quick to make.

I came across Joy McCarthy’s recipe from Joyous Health, and have been experimenting with a few of her recipes and have not been disappointed with any of them. The Apple Maple Quinoa Porridge has become a morning staple, and when I didn’t have it for a few days, I began craving it, which was a bit of a surprise–how many people do you know who crave quinoa?

It might seem like a little bit more work than simply toasting a bagel and buttering it, but it’s not a huge amount of work and the few extra minutes it does entail, are totally worth it.

Aside from the taste (which is great), there are numerous health benefits to this breakfast bowl including balancing your blood sugar (from the quinoa), and boosting your brain function (thanks to the cinnamon), as well as others. Ingredients for Quinoa

{Ingredients: Organic Quinoa, Unsweetened Almond Milk, Organic Cinnamon, 100% Maple Syrup, Chia Seeds, Organic Apple, and Pumpkin Seeds}
Chopped Apples
{While the quinoa is cooking, chop the apple into bite sizes and measure the pumpkin seeds and chia seeds.}
Apples and Quinoa
{Once the quinoa is cooked, pour into a bowl, then add the chopped apple.}
Mixing Ingredients Together
{Combine all the remaining ingredients and stir. If you prefer it a little runnier, then add almond milk.}
