Tell the Truth

Mark Twain Quote: "If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything."

This quote reminds us of William Goldman's book, Which Lie Did I Tell? More Adventures in the Screen Trade. The title of his book is taken from a comment made by a certain Hollywood producer who had told so many lies, that he didn't know which of his lies he had told, never mind whether he had lied or not, at least that's what Goldman mentioned at an industry talk. It's always a good idea to tell the truth. Mark Twain said so. … [Read more...]

Make-Up Table

I've mentioned on this blog before how much I love make-up, so in today's post, I'm showing you my make-up table, so you can see for yourselves how this is true. I was feeling overwhelmed by how my make-up was organized (or disorganized), so I bought some Martha Stewart trays, and used them to divide and store my make-up within the drawers. After my latest MAC splurge, it's been really helpful to have these organized in this way. {I try to compartmentalize my make-up as much as possible, … [Read more...]

La Prairie

{La Prairie Cellular Eye Contour Cream}{Source} The sad truth is that not all eye creams are equal. And you can’t really use your regular face cream on your eye area and expect great results because that area is so sensitive and fragile that it needs its own moisturizer. When we skip out on using eye cream, we notice, and probably so do other people because the skin around and below our eyes gets dry and tired. We’ve tried so many creams, and we've found one that we both really like. … [Read more...]

Cool Gadgets

In a world with so many gadgets, it's easy to get overwhelmed with all the choices. Our rule for gadgets is to keep it simple: use the ones that only make your life easier. This is the case with the three shown above. 1. Olloclip for iPhone. This portable camera lens is super convenient since you can attach it to your iPhone or carry it in your pocket and take out only when you want to use it. It takes three different types of photos: wide, macro and fisheye. 2. Fuzz Remover. While … [Read more...]

Home Office Items

We have a pretty large home office space, and have redecorated it ourselves a couple of times.  We like Stephen King's advice of having couches in our office, so that way people who pop in can have a place to hang out while keeping us company, or at the very least, they get to be comfortable while distracting us.  Having a comfortable home office is a nice way to ensure we'll want to spend time there, and it's a nice way to connect with people for a short while throughout the day when we're … [Read more...]

Running Playlist

Running Playlist

I’ve always been a jogger, but lately I’ve been a bit more consistent going for a run at least 4-5 times a week, especially after all the cheesecake I've been eating. I mix it up between short interval training and long pace runs.  The short intervals are, at times, painful, but the adrenaline kicks in and keeps me going, so it’s really enjoyable.  What I really like about doing intervals are that they’re short (20-30 minutes) so mentally I can prepare myself for this type of run much easier … [Read more...]

Top 5 Ways to Recognize a Frenemy

It's easiest to pick up if someone is really a friend or a frenemy by the vibes you get, since a frenemy's danger comes as a disguised friend. Spotting one is a little tricky, even to the most astute of us (i.e.: those who have fallen victim to a frenemy in the past). There are so many, not-so-obvious ways of detecting whether someone is really a friend or foe.  We've listed these below to help you to identify a potential frenemy. Top 5 Ways to Recognize a Frenemy: 1. They covet what … [Read more...]

Summer Loves

Summer's here! Below are a list of some of our favourite things about summer. 1. Pinot Grigio Niagara on the Lake has some amazing Pinot Grigio wines, and after a tour of their wineries last year, we became a big fan of Pinot Grigio from that particular region.  Below is the Pelee Island Winery's 2004 Pinot Gris.  It's cool, crisp, and light, which is very refreshing on a hot summer day. 2. Flip Flops Love, love, love the convenience of wearing flip flops!  Who doesn't?  Our … [Read more...]
